Isaiah 32:17

The work of righteousness will be peace,
and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

The willingness to be and to have just what God wants us to be and have, nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else, would set our hearts at rest, and we would discover the simpler life,
greater peace.
-Elisabeth Elliot

Thanks *so* much for sharing, Bethany! I always enjoy these kinds of posts. And as always, your photo is beautiful! Right now, I'm reading "Shadow of the Almighty" by Elisabeth Elliot. It's about the life of Jim Elliot. Must say, it's been a wonderful read. Have you heard or read of it before?

What's the weather like where you live?

To read this this morning is just continuing a theme the Lord keeps bringing to my attention. Its faith building when the Lord uses several scriptures, quotes, and circumstances to teach me something!

I'm reading the book 'Radical' and he's talking about how surrendering even our belongings is part of surrendering our hearts. I've never liked to think of myself as materialistic, but in so many ways I am! I know this post isn't just addressing that, but its what it made me think of. Am I *willing* truly, to let the Lord have His way?

I'm going to borrow this quote. Thanks for sharing it!

Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I needed to hear this! We must let go of our personal desires, and say, "God, what do YOU want me to do?".

That is one of my favorite Bible verses, Bethany! Thank you for sharing it and your beautiful picture!

The Lord has been working on my heart lately to trust Him just one step at a time, not worrying about what lies in the future, but trusting Him today. The quote from Elisabeth Elliott really fits in with that lesson very well. Thank you so much!

There is nothing like being at peace with God! Knowing full well that in His perfect timing, He will bring things to pass. Thank God for His peace to lead and guide and direct us!
