Money Matters

...The normal image of wealth in our society is someone with a surplus of money, large cars, maybe a large business, certainly a large home. That is what we typically visualize. But when God's Word describes a wealthy person, it never makes reference to the amount of money he has.

...Money is never going to make you happy!!

...The way we handle our money is the best outside reflection of our true inner values. You can tell more about the spiritual lives of a couple by looking at their checkbook than by anything else. People can say anything they think others want to hear, and many people are great at faking their true attitudes, but the way they handle their finances is usually a dead giveaway to what is really going on. The way we handle our money is nothing more than the outward expression of what's going on spiritually inside.

And once you accept the fact that God owns everything, its important to manage all you have according to His rules. It's how you manage money that determines how you will manage great things.

"He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?"
Luke 16:10-11

Am I really the first to comment? :)
I'm so excited for you, Bethany, as you begin caring for the matters of married life. May God give you wisdom and discernment as you strive to please Him!

I've heard that many times..."show me your checkbook and I'll tell you where you're heart is." All very true! Good points that fail to be made sometimes and can sadly cause many problems in relationships...not just marriages either.

God bless! :)

Thank you so much for posting something like this!! Money really has become the main focus, and it really is sad. Not only that, but evils spring from attempts to solve this problem as well. "The love of money is the root of all evil."

I am not so inventive to be able to portray noteworthy stuff like you do but I am trying to pay it back so hoepfully this will throw you a broad grin or make you guffaw or at the very least give you a thought for the day? :

If you were on trial for being a Christian--- would there be enough evidence to convict you?;u=737;sa=summary
