On my shelf

Most of my blog posts (and life!) has been centered around Dan and wedding plans recently, (and I'm lovin' it!!) and in the midst of everything I have managed to continue reading...a little, anyway! It is taking me much longer to get through a book, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying reading. Currently in my book bag, I'm working through:

Set Apart Femininity by Leslie Ludy

The Complete Financial Guide for Young Couples by Larry Burkett

Trevor's Song by T. A. Beam

As I read, I keep a pen and paper handy to make notes of things that stand out to me, and maybe, just maybe, one of these days I'll get excerpts typed up of what I'm learning! [smile]

How about you? Reading any good books?

Just finished reading "The Bravehearted Gospel" by Eric Ludy for the second time [fantabulous book!] and went through "Set Apart Femininity" a second time. =) I highlight, underline and write things down; I understand!

Also, I have more books on the list to read when I'm through with these. =) I love to read, especially encouraging books to help me in my Christian walk. Thanks for sharing Bethany!

I just finished reading "Authentic Beauty" (also by Leslie Ludy) and "Set-Apart Femininity' a couple of months ago. They are so life challenging and changing! I pray that it is blessing you now as you read it.

Right now I'm reading "The Redemption of Sarah Cain" by Beverly Lewis. I've read it before...but I'm one of those readers who if they find a story they love...they love to read it more than once!

Thank you for the post Bethany! May God continue to bless you and Dan as you prepare for marriage!

I love this one book by Chuck Black. It is called Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione. It is the best book I have ever read, next to the Elsie Dinsmore series by Martha Finley and the Bible. And of course, the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis are amazing as well. There are some great books out there! :)

I love books by most Christian authors. You have such a great blog. :)

Many blessings,

I LOVE reading. Currently I am reading a book by Dawn Watkins. The title is "Zoli's Legacy". It is based on a true story. It it during WWII and is VERY interesting. I like reading any Christian books. I especially like Janette Oke, Lori Wick, and many others. I really like books about the Amish and Old Order Mennonite too. Some authors of those would be Wanda E. Brunstetter, Kim Vogel Sawyer, and Beverly Lewis. I really like Christian Romance. I have not read "Set Apart Femininity", but from what I read here, it is a really good book! Well, if anyone has any more good Christian book authors, I am open for suggestions!

Hmmm... can I post on here if I'm not female??

Just thought you might like to know that there are bookworm boys too - I keep a list, and am near 1,000! Some recent favorites are J.I. Packer's "Knowing God" (not done yet; fabulous!); J.M. Boice's "The Christ of Christmas" (also fabulous); any Douglas Bond fiction; J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" (not recommended for young girls, though...); "What He Must Be... if He Wants to Marry my Daughter," Dr. Voddie Baucham... I LOVE to read!

So, Bethany, you have at least a few male blog readers :) I am SO happy for you and Dan... he's one blessed guy to find you, and sounds like you feel the same!

God bless,
