Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you, Chelsy, as well as letting me try out a few new ideas on you! What a fun afternoon... [smile]

Congratulations as you graduate this spring!

Psalms 40:8

"I delight to do Thy will,
O my God:
yea, Thy law
is within my heart."

A heads up!

For those of you interested in learning more about photography, I recently ran across a website that is offering a free photography course on "Telling a Story with Photos." Some of the content is very basic, but if you are just beginning, the basics are very important! And I need reminders and re-freshers every once in a while and have enjoyed reading their material.

After every lesson (four in all) they have a few practice assignments that consist of going out and taking pictures. What could be funner than that?! [grin] Or maybe you already know all the info that is shared and want to pass it on to a younger sibling -- having them read through the lessons then guiding them through the assignments.

There is a deadline, though...if you sign up, you must complete the course by April 11 -- so act fast! (And for those who are leery of bad content within photography lessons, I have previewed all the material and everything is safe).

Calvary's Love

His redeeming, unfathomable love for me is summed up in four words:

"Then they crucified Him." Matthew 27:35

There is no way Jesus could have been crucified unless He allowed it, which He did. The nails didn't hold Him there, but rather, my sin. For me -- He died and now lives and reigns. What a Savior!

Another first....

...this time learning about the rolling pin!

"Look, Mom! I'm a big girl now!"

...flour everywhere...

"Smile for the camera!"

What an eager little helper she is!

and CUTE, too.
(have I ever mentioned that before?!)

Psalms 100:2

"...serve the Lord with gladness..."

Forget about whether or not others will be grateful for your selfless service, or whether they will even notice it. As God's beautiful woman, you don't do what you do to get anything, you do what you do because of who you are, because of the person God is making you into -- a virtuous woman who is beautiful in His eyes!

Selfless service is the greatest beauty of all. It's the beauty of our Lord.

God's will is exactly what we would choose
if we knew what God knows.

Home again!

Where once again I use actual dressers...and my closet has a door....and my toothbrush can stay in the bathroom...and my sleeping bag doesn't get rolled up every morning (or rolled out every night, either, for that matter!)...where it takes forever in this great big house to find anyone (okay, so not quite! It just seems that way after 14 people living in the 45 feet of our 'bus' space!)...where I can leave the water running until it is hot before using it...and where my family and I can all sit around one big table and hold hands to pray at meal time.

Oh the simple joys of being home once again!

Whose time?

So often believers say "I really need to make more time for God."

But no!! That is the wrong way to say it. It is all God's time -- we are the ones borrowing it to do other things.

"So teach [us] to number our days,
that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom."

You may depend upon it that a life of real heroism and sacrifice must begin and lay its foundation in the little things, wherein it leans its first lesson and takes its first step.

My posting has been extremely random lately, something that tends to happen on our road trips. In case you want to get caught up on all the happenings that I didn't blog about, check out some very fun picture posts on both the family blog, and my brother's blog. Life has definitely been full and my blog sadly neglected. But now the countdown has started for arriving back in Nebraska. Home, sweet home!

And I'll sign off for today with a few cute photos of one of my favorite little helpers....

For Josiah

I wasn't going to share this since it didn't turn out, but it is hard to resists a big brother's pleadings... [smile]

Last night our family was 25 miles away from Cape Canaveral, and being that close to history in the making, we all trouped outside in our PJ's to see the shuttle launch at 2:28 am. Because of the cloud cover, we only ended up seeing it for 4-5 seconds (not near long enough for me to experiment!!) though we heard it for much, much longer than that. Wow. It was incredible to watch the sky light up and hear the roar.

This poor picture doesn't do it justice.

To see the real picture from those who were up close and knew what they were doing, check out NASA's picture! It is amazing and also a much more impressive sight to see.

Philippians 2:5-8

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

When God showed His love for the world in the incarnation, He did more than come to live in the world and be with humankind. He also paid a price for that love that left no question of it's authenticity.

Extreme Refusal

"They begged and begged me, but I couldn't give it to them," said the man. "I know Christians are supposed to share, but I just couldn't part with it."

He sadly held out his hand so that his listener could see his prized possession.

"I really wanted to, but I couldn't. You see, people in North Korea told me that they have been praying for fifty years to get a Bible. But I didn't give them mine because I had been praying for twenty years, and I had just gotten it from a pastor in South Korea."

He sighed deeply as his mind went to the needy believers in North Korea desperately praying for one copy of the Bible. He hugged his Bible to his chest.

Bibles in North Korea are rare. Because of the opposition from the Communists, believers consider them more precious than gold. One man was beaten to death with an iron rod along the Chinese border when he was caught bringing Bibles into North Korea. Sadly, cases like this are reported over and over.

"I cannot forget those people," he said with a sigh. "I cannot forget the look of envy on their faces when I showed them my Bible. I feel so badly for them."

"These things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name."

John 20:31

How differently might we treat our Bibles if we had to pray for over twenty years to get one?!

Through the window

As our family puts many, many miles on the road, we tend to see quite a variety of scenery as we travel. None of these pictures are stunning or a masterpiece, but just for a bit a fun (as they were all taken through the window as we were traveling 45-70 mph from state to state...) I thought I'd post a few.
