In HIS strength --

Trying to do the Lord's work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting and tedious of all work.
But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit,
then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you.
Corrie tenBoom

"You shall call, and the Lord will answer;
...the Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy your soul in drought,
and strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."
Isaiah 58:9, 11

Funny that you should post about doing nothing in our own strength. You see, I was convicted of this very thing this morning as I read Phil. 3:3 which says, "For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh."

My tendancy is to think..."What, have no confidence in the flesh?" "How is the world am I to get anything done?" But the fact of the matter is--that if we truly want to get anything at all done. We must have our confidence in the Lord! In so doing we shall then have joy, verses confusion.

Thank you for listening to His Spirit! This just reaffirmed what I read this morning. You're a blessing, Bethany!

Hugs, and love to you!

Bethany, that was so good! Thanks for those quotes. I really appreciated them.

Although I admit, I was almost disappointed to see an update that had not one glimpse of your beautiful new sister :D. She sure is precious!

Thanks for this post though... I needed it! I love you and miss you and can't wait to see you!

My eyes about popped out of my head when I read this post! I have been struggling with what is my ministry, Lord? Do I have any sin stopping me from ministering? What do You want me to do? type of thoughts. And this moring I read that exact passage in Isaiah and was filled with His peace as I then poured out my herat before Him. And what a wonderful quote from a wonderfu lady!
Anyway, all this to say I was blessed :) Thanks for posting and congrats on a beautiful baby sisiter!!
