Memorial Day

A day to honor those who have given their lives for their country. For our country.

Praise the Lord for freedom! Not only freedom here in America, but ultimately for freedom from sin. Freedom is not free. It comes at a price. Men died for the blessings we experience today. Christ died for the joys we will experience through all eternity.

"...One died for all...and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again."
II Corinthians 5:14-15

God cannot give us happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

Wow, Beth! That was so good! I love how you emphasised what Christ did for us. We love our freedom here in America, and it's easy to take it for granted. But what a price that had to be paid! And we tend to not realize to half the extent that we should what Christ did for us... the price He paid, and the freedom we now have. Thanks for the excellent reminder!
