Happy Birthday!

You are my best friend, my hero, my confidant, my love, my man.

22 things I appreciate about you, Dan --

  1. You are so understanding and patient (evidenced as you taught me how to drive manual transmission!)
  2. You are selfless -- you get up early and study so that we have more time together in the evenings
  3. You wrote a song just for me! And I love that...
  4. You pull out your guitar and serenade me occasionally while I finish making supper
  5. You are brave (you let me cut your hair when I'd never done it before!)
  6. I love your smile -- and that you use it a lot.
  7. You are committed to God's Word
  8. You are ticklish
  9. You have a sincere love and care for those around you
  10. You hold my hand
  11. You are a man of prayer and friend of God
  12. You occasionally surprise me with flowers or chocolates "because I love you!"
  13. You have such a strong name "Daniel Trust" and truly live it
  14. You pay attention to details
  15. You are honest and live your life openly before God and others
  16. You are diligent
  17. You have a great sense of humor
  18. You have a heart to serve
  19. You are physically strong
  20. You are ever striving to be more Christlike
  21. You have incredible hazel eyes
  22. Your love for me is so tender, manly, passionate, and cherishing -- and through your love I've seen a fuller, deeper, richer picture of Christ's love for His bride

I love you, Dan!

I'm looking forward to many more celebrations with you!

6:31 am

My man has been busy studying -- and now that the semester is almost over he has a three hour test tonight and Thursday night. I know he would appreciate prayer as he finishes last minute preparation and takes the tests!

"Study to show yourself approved unto God,
a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15

For

I can't help

falling in love

miscellaneous macro

Have any of you played around with macro photography? I took the following pictures a few years ago, never got around to blogging them, and just discovered them tonight again! [smile]

His own

"Trust Me, My child," He says.

"Trust Me with a fuller abandon than you ever have before. Trust Me, as minute succeeds minute, every day of your life, for as long as you live. And if you become conscious of anything hindering your relationship, do not hurt Me by turning away from Me. Draw all the closer to Me, come, run to Me. Allow Me to hide you, to protect you, even from yourself. Tell Me your deepest cares, your every trouble. Trust Me to keep My hand uopon you. I will never leave you. I will shape you, mold you, and perfect you. Do not fear, O child of My love, do not fear.
I love you."

Just because...

I was browsing wedding pictures again tonight

...and am so supremely happy!

PaperBackSwap

I'm sure ya'll know already, but I am an avid bookworm.

Libraries, book sales, thrift stores...I'm always on the lookout for good books and how to get them inexpensively. And I ran across a website that enables me to do just that!

Trade Books for Free - PaperBack Swap.

You start out by adding 10 books to their system. Once you've added your 10 books, you'll get 2 free credits. And every time someone requests a book of yours and you mail it to them, you'll get another credit.

To keep your costs down, try to stick with listing lightweight books. And the more popular your book is, the more likely it will be requested -- which means another credit for you! Oh, and did I mention you can also earn credits by referring friends?! [smile]

In addition to listing books that I no longer want, sometimes I'll pick up 10 or 25 cent books at the thrift store (if they are in good condition and I know they are popular!) and add them to my list.

In regards to requesting books, what works best for me is adding books to my wish list (instead of looking through the books they currently offer) and then they'll send me an email notification when the books is available and I have 2 days to respond.

I've been able to get some excellent books by my favorite authors for next to nothing and have been impressed by how quickly I've received books I've requested.

How about you? What is your favorite resource for inexpensive books? Do any of you already use PaperBackSwap?

The post that isn't

It has almost been a week since I've blogged.

So in hopes of getting a post up, I've been sitting here at the computer for the last 30 minutes, trying to write something while browsing through some fun pictures from the week.

But -- nothing is coming together and instead of another post, all I have is three more drafts saved. And I already have way to many of those...

So here's a picture-less post to say I'm headed out the door to go shopping with my sister, Rachel, (who has been visiting all week!) and here's hoping we find some good deals!!

Happy June, ya'll!!
