Green

What a joy the spring season is -- to see everything growing and full of life!

Just for fun, I grabbed my camera and ran around snapping a few quick pics of some 'green' things I could find around our house...

Indescribable

My God is BIG.
And I can't help but marvel!

I'd encourage you to check out this you-tube video of Louis Giglio sharing on the awesomeness of our Creator as he shares pictures and facts about outer space:
"When I consider thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers,
the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained;
what is man, that Thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that Thou visitest him?
For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels,
and hast crowned him with glory and honour...
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!"

Psalms 84:11

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who WALK UPRIGHTLY. "

A man can no more take in a supply of grace for the future than he can eat enough for six months, or take sufficient air into his lungs at one time to sustain life for a week. We must draw upon God's boundless store of grace from day to day.

A glimpse of my evenings...

...finding a quiet corner (usually the laundry room!)...
...talking to a very special friend...

Alexander Graham Bell was a genius.
So were the Wright Brothers.

Psalms 16:11

"You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

I just want to please the Lord;
Be in His will in every way!
To be lost in His presence -- found in His likeness
Hear Him say "Well Done" someday.

This song has been running through my head all morning as a prayer -- oh, may this truly be the cry of our hearts!

Josiah & Abi

Josiah and Abi have been wanting to get some 'first winter' pictures for a while, but with our family's schedule, it just never worked out...until yesterday. Taking advantage of the unexpected snow storm, we bundled up warm and ran outside to snap a few pictures...

Yup. They are totally in love!!

In the Garden

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The son of God discloses!

And He walks with me, and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own!
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet that the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing!

And He walks with me, and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own!
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known!

NCHEA 2009: The drama

It's difficult summing up an 8 part drama in just a few pictures on a blog, but here is a little glimpse from last weekend...

WESTWARD HO!

It all begins with 4 families headed westward...

Mr. Ward

The Thompson Family

The clever Mr. and Mrs. Harris

Dodge and Shadow

Upon arriving out west, they all meet Mr. Rich E. Lands -- a huge land owner who has a smooth deal for them all. Will they sign the dotted line?! Some do, others don't...time will tell who was the wiser.

Heart-to-heart talks about growing...

...bad guys thinking up mischief....

...learning valuable lessons...

...Rich counting his wealth...

...and not listening to his brother's wisdom.

The bad guys sneaking...

...and telling the boss their plans are about to backfire...

"KABOOM!"

...surveying the damage after the dynamite blew...

...Rich E. lost it all...
...and is finally willing to listen.

It ended so powerfully, then, with Rich singing the theme song that Rachel had written:

"To know Your will, to hear Your voice,
To follow where You guide me!
To search Your Word, to live Your truth,
To know You're close beside me!

And I will follow You, Jesus.
To live a life that's pleasing.
Oh give me grace -- to do Your will;
And I will live for You."

A HUGE thank you to the drama team -- once again you did an outstanding job!
