On my shelf

Most of my blog posts (and life!) has been centered around Dan and wedding plans recently, (and I'm lovin' it!!) and in the midst of everything I have managed to continue reading...a little, anyway! It is taking me much longer to get through a book, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying reading. Currently in my book bag, I'm working through:

Set Apart Femininity by Leslie Ludy

The Complete Financial Guide for Young Couples by Larry Burkett

Trevor's Song by T. A. Beam

As I read, I keep a pen and paper handy to make notes of things that stand out to me, and maybe, just maybe, one of these days I'll get excerpts typed up of what I'm learning! [smile]

How about you? Reading any good books?

Our wedding invitations

For those asking for more posts about wedding details...

Here is what our wedding invitations look like! I didn't go the traditional route, but with Rachel's amazing expertise, came up with an elegant double sided invite that used lots of pictures and was exactly what I was wishing for! THANK YOU, Rachel!!

I hope it uploaded big enough for you to read!

Charissa's prayer

Over the last month or so, I've begun preparing my three year old sister, Charissa, for the wedding -- trying to help her understand that I'll be moving far away afterwards. I couldn't really tell if she was getting the idea or not, until the other morning when we were having family prayer time. We start with the oldest and work our way down, everyone taking their turn to pray. When it came to Charissa's turn, I heard her say:

"Dear Lord, please help Dan and Bethany to get married,
and then after Bethany goes bye-bye,
please help me go see her..."
