First:

Yup. I still remember the day I took my very first picture -- wow, it seems like such a long time ago! I was 7 or 8, my brown hair all done up in two lil' pigtails...

Daddy came home from work and told us all to "hurry up and come outside". While driving home, he came across a huge snapping turtle that was in the process of crossing the road! Quickly stopping, he loaded it up in the back of his pick-up to bring it home. It was huge (and getting mad, too!) Someone went running for the camera and I remember asking: "Can I take it Daddy? Can I take the picture?"

I was so surprised when Daddy agreed -- and excited as he told me how to focus and what button to push. [smile]

There you have it folks. The very first picture I ever took. (I know, rather pathetic and unfriendly!) You can laugh -- I am!

Aren't you glad life is a journey, full of opportunities to grow?

That turtle does not look to friendly. I would not like to get on his bad side. But good job on the picture. I think that it is pretty good for one as young as you were.

How fun but glad you didn't get snapped by the turtle while snapping it's picture!

Well, you gotta start somewhere. Yikes , I hate turtles, they're so ugly, and do not look friendly! Not bad for your first picture though:)

Awww!...That's just too cute! (I mean the picture, and the very idea of it -- NOT the turtle :)

Thanks for sharing, Bethany!

Noelle how rude!! I think the turtle is rather adorable. ;) Great job on the photo Bethany. I wish I knew the first time I pressed down the focus button and made my first image! Perfect verse to go with it. I love it!

(Sorry I have been so lax in writing comments as of late!)

Good job! ;)

I guess great minds think alike--I was just here on your blog earlier this evening and was going to comment but yjrm had to get off of the computer. Now you just wrote on mine! :) I thought I'd reply to your note here since I wasn't sure if you'd see it if I replied on my blog. ANYWAY. :) I did just print these calendars myself since they're so small and when I tried it they printed well. I got the drawings professionally scanned and the cards are professionally printed, but the calendars I just did myself. I'm not sure how you'd go about it with color pictures since those might not print as well plus you'd have the wear and tear on your printer? :| If there is a small printshop around you might want to try there--they might be cheaper then the larger stores like Office Max, I'm really not sure. (Cafepress.com also does calendars but I've never done anything with them so I'm not sure how that works or what kind of quality it is. I've gotten things other than calendars from Shutterfly.com and was pleased with them, so that might be another option.) You definitely should look into it--it would be beautiful with your pictures!!! (As a side note, you should do cards with your pictures on them too! That would be fun!)

Hope that helps!!

The turtle is great, but thanks for the reminder from "small beginnings". Every little bit helps, right?
