A heart of love

Have I ever been carried away to do something for God not because it was my duty, nor because it was useful, nor because there was anything in it at all beyond the fact that I love Him?

Psalms 113:5-6

"Who is like the Lord our God, who dwells on high,
who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?"

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling 'darkness' on the wall of his cell...

Hebrews 11:3

"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."

God does not expect us to argue with Him when He tells us to do something. He doesn't expect us to apply human logic to our circumstances. He simply expects us to obey and trust Him...If you trust God's Word, you will never regret it. Obedience allows you to operate despite seemingly impossible circumstances, because Jesus is more powerful than everything we can see or touch.

Caleb & Anna

What happens when a wedding gets planned in one week's time? Engagement pictures get taken after the wedding! (So maybe they should really be called honeymoon portraits... :)

Congratulations, Caleb and Anna!

...does not mean to be in a place where there
is no noise, trouble, or hard work.
Peace means to be in the midst of all those things
and still be calm in your heart.

Great PEACE have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.
Psalms 119:165

O the Deep Love of Jesus

:: Caleb and Anna ::
:: December 28, 2008 ::

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!

Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me!

Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love!

Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!

How He loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!

How He watches over His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;

How for them He intercedeth,
watcheth over them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me

And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

Fun times

I am home for three wonderful weeks --

Yup. I still remember the day I took my very first picture -- wow, it seems like such a long time ago! I was 7 or 8, my brown hair all done up in two lil' pigtails...

Daddy came home from work and told us all to "hurry up and come outside". While driving home, he came across a huge snapping turtle that was in the process of crossing the road! Quickly stopping, he loaded it up in the back of his pick-up to bring it home. It was huge (and getting mad, too!) Someone went running for the camera and I remember asking: "Can I take it Daddy? Can I take the picture?"

I was so surprised when Daddy agreed -- and excited as he told me how to focus and what button to push. [smile]

There you have it folks. The very first picture I ever took. (I know, rather pathetic and unfriendly!) You can laugh -- I am!

Aren't you glad life is a journey, full of opportunities to grow?

"Do not despise small beginnings."
