The Great Wall

It is simply amazing how I can be going about my day, and all of the sudden someone will say something or do something that brings back a memory from my summer in China. I am so thankful God gave me the opportunity to be in Taiyuan for 7 weeks; so many things learned and lots (and lots and lots and lots) of pictures taken.

Eating Chinese food (with chopsticks of course!) will never be the same...talk about memories!!

If ya'll don't mind a few more China pics, I've never shared any from our trip to the Great Wall! The last weekend our team was in China, we were able to go see a part of the Great Wall.

Instead of going to Beijing to see the renovated great wall, we ended up staying in the Shanxi province and traveling to see a part of the original wall. It wasn't as impressive as the restored one, but the view was incredible, we were the only ones in sight, we were able to walk on the wall -- and it was an amazing, wonderful, incredible day.

So there you go -- a few more pictures from the summer that I'll never forget...

Wow, that area is beautiful!
I never knew that part of the wall looked like this - I think it looks more intersting than the restored part.

Bethany,
The Great Wall looks amazing! What a neat place to see!
I can totally relate to having flashbacks to missions trips! I think God sometimes uses them to remind me of the awesome things He has done and wonderful people He has made. Treasure those memories!

Beautiful! China is a gorgeous country- too bad the government is so corrupt. But I admire the Christians. Did your family go there as a mission trip?

That is amazing, I had no idea that the whole wall didn't look like you see in pictures all the time. Thanks.

I love the pictures Bethany! There is a lot of beautiful countryside in China, as I see from your pictures. The way you capture things is beautiful, and I always enjoy seeing your picture. (so I would always enjoy seeing China pictures, I'm sure there are lots more you could share, seeing you spent 7 weeks there and took over 7,000 pictures :) Although I know how it is that life goes on and you take more pictures, and sometimes the other pictures get forgotten as life continues to march forward. But anyhow...I love the pictures a whole lot!)

Beautiful pictures! I love shooting, too, though I certainly don't turn out anything so spectacular!

BTW, I left a comment on your post back in 2006--Why I'm not saving my heart for my husband--asking if we could link it as a recommended article on the Pearls and Diamonds Blog...in case you never see it. :) Can we? :D
