A new camera!!

Thank you all for your prayers and concern -- after much research, I settled on the Nikon D80. And it came in the mail today! I am going to have fun playing with it and finding out all it's gadgets and gizmos before leaving for China in 4 days....

(and for future reference -- one should always, always wash the mirror before trying to take a self portrait!! just look at that awful smudge...)

GREAT, BETHANIE!! I'm so glad!! Do you like it so far? It's kind of a bummer that you don't know it as well as your other camera, but it's a blessing that you can have a camera to take with you! =)) That's where your editing will come in I guess---but it probably doesn't take much for you to figure out cameras! =)) I'm glad you found one!!!

Does this new one accept your old camera's lenses?

Yep! Since I stayed in the Nikon line -- all my lens will work on both cameras. Yay!

Yay!! Did you actually end up getting a better camera now? I thought the it was funny that you had flipped the picture, until I saw that you had taken it in a mirror. :)

Oh Bethany, how exciting!! :) Praise the Lord that it came and you have time to figure things out on it before leaving next Tuesday.

Yay for Nikons!! :) That's great that all your old lens' will work on the new camera.

I know what you're talking about when there are smudges on the mirror and you're trying to take a self-portrait!! Although, I really don't see it in your picture, it looks great!!

I was waiting for this post and am so excited for you! :) You're probably going to be taking pictures all weekend long!!

My family and I have seen your blog a few times and enjoy it very much.
We also visited your family website and listened to some of your music.

I know how exciting it can be to get a new camera. I got a Cannon XTi about three months ago. I really enjoy taking pictures of everything!
I hope you have a good trip to China.
