Wow Bethany! You were amazing! I did not expect to come here and find so many wonderful ones -- after all those tries of getting Landon's teeth to show and Janae to smile. :) Oh, and the baby to quit crying. You did a fabulous job. I really like the way the background looks too. Thank you so much for all your effort and time! We are very blessed by your willingness and ability to do this photo shoot for us. The Lord's blessings to you!

Wow Bethany! I am impressed! I just wish I could be close enough to you to do our pictures. (-:

Hey Margaret! To clarify: the 'had' I used was an "it's available" had... If something isn't there, it can't be for the having! :) Maybe I should just switch it to say: I was able to, or had the pleasure of! [grin]

Hello Bethany! I enjoyed visiting your site a few times before, but this is my first comment. Your posts are truly beautiful, and more importantly, very inspiring. You have such a worshipful style of photography, and you are able to capture even the smallest beauty in God's creation. Isn't it wonderful to be able to observe His masterful hand so closely? I enjoy taking pictures as well, but I am no where near an expert. I suppose I do it just for the joy of it. :) I cannot recall just how I found your blog, but I am glad that I did. I look forward to enjoying more of your posts in the future. Feel free to visit our site anytime. You would be most welcome. :) Love in Christ, Heather

Hey Bethany, good job :) so cute, and the girls were exited to see the picture of Janae, it's not a very common name, I've only ever met one other person with that name.
God Bless~

Hey Bethany,

These are GREAT pictures!! Very cute!!

This is probably a dumb question... (But I haven't been on here much lately, so I haven't been to your blog in a while) I was just wondering... do you take pictures at a studio, or do you take them at home? They are really good!!

I love taking pictures... of course mine are no where near this good!! LOL!! But I still love pictures!!

Hey goldfish! To answer your question about getting the writing on the bottom of the picture...I took a white piece of paper and then cut my name out; then before taking a picture I'd just prop it up there....

NO!! I'm totally joking! :) I actually open the picture up into a publisher document, put the words on, then instead of saving it as a document, under the options I click "JPEG file" (or something similiar.) It is time consuming, but the only way I've figured out thus far. If anyone has faster tips -- please share!

Jesicca -- I don't currently have a studio; the pictures you saw were just taken in a house. I basically put up a white sheet on one of the walls and made sure it was well lit enough that it would look white (a hard thing to do!) and used that as my background. It is amazing what creative, simple, (CHEAP!!!) ways there are to re-create a studio anywhere!

Totally adorable!!! You did a wonderful job, Bethany! Thanks for sharing. :) (If you have Photoshop, that's another way of getting the name onto the picture--might be a little easier than Publisher.)

Bethany,
There are several ways of automating the watermarking process. Photoshop has these capabilities built in, but there are several cheaper and free alternatives. iWatermark (http://www.scriptsoftware.com/iwatermark/) $20, works on Mac & PC and has some more advanced features, but quite a few bugs. Visualizer Photo Resize (http://www.freeimagebrowser.com/resize/) works well, and is free, but it is more limited feature-wise, and has some licensing restrictions. You can google photo watermarking software, but exercise caution when downloading free software for Windows. There is more spyware, adware, and malware out there (conveniently packaged with freeware) than Jones has pills!

Other options include custom php scripts, and the like, but those are time consuming and tedious. I think your best bet is to create (or get someone else to create) a nice transparent "logo" of your name, with some gentle "outer-glow" and an extremely subtle shadow; (so it shows up on all kinds of extreme light and dark backgrounds) and superimpose that image on all your pictures with one of these free programs. I'd be happy to help you with that "logo" if you'd like.

Hope that helps! :-)

Beautiful pictures of totally wonderful subjects!!! It's always a huge blessing to see that trio on certain blogs (they're almost famous!). Their Gramma's smile kept getting bigger and bigger with each picture she looked at. Is there any way one or more of them grandkids could ride along on your next trip north?

When reading your reply to my comment, I was like okaaaaay....is she serious?! :D But I think I like the first option better, it sounds a little less confusing, and like you wouldn't need as much brains! (And I'm all for that! :) Missing you tons!

The pictures are all so cute. I think I like the last best because it looks so unposed. Janae's smile is really cute in it.

Bethany,
I know this is slightly off-topic, but many D-SLRs from Canon and Nikon (I don't know about other manufacturer's D-SLRs) can be programmed to automatically insert data (such as "Photo (c) so-and-so") with each photo it takes. There was an article on this in the April 2007 issue of Outdoor Photographer ("Your name here," by John Paul Caponigro.) As I could not find the article on their website, I'd be willing to mail you a copy if you are interested.
Also, thanks for answering my questions about NYIP a few posts back (Hacking the Blog.) your answers were very helpful. I will look elsewhere.
