On the lighter side

Why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Can you cry under water?

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Do you ever wonder who comes up with these original questions?

Of course, I started singing the alphabet song and twinkle twinkle little star to see if they were the same, and then burst out laughing when I read the next one! That is so funny! Great post, Bethany!

Ha! I already knew that they had the same tune, so you didn't get me.

I like the one about the two cents. It actually makes a good point: people tend to say twice as much as anyone really listens to. Or maybe people only listen to half of what they hear.

At any rate, I've heard that people only remember 10% of what they hear. I don't remember what happens to the 90%.

I love the one about the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle! I figured out that they were the same tune a few months ago. I told a friend about my discovery, and he said "Really? They really are the same? OK, you sing Twinkle, Twinkle, while I sing the Alphabet song." We preceded to sing it together, and then he laughed and said "They are the same! Wow!" It was so funny, we were both laughing really hard! :-)

Oh, I love this post, Bethany! I just laughed a lot while reading it, and my family probably thought, what's she laughing at?? :D
I love the twinklin' star-ABC one, but I was too lazy to find out if they were really the same... I thought I would do it later when I finished the post... then I read the next... and wow, I just couldn't stop laughing!

That was a great post! I love questions like that. About the Twinkle and ABC songs, I paused a for a tiny bit, but i didn't try singing or humming them. I just thought "oh, I guess they are the same." I loved all of those.

Oh yeah, the chicks are so cute. We raised 51 chicks (they sent us one more than we ordered). It was exactly 3 years ago this Monday. They came in the mail at like 5 AM we got a call from the post office saying that they arrived. I guess they weren't sure what to think with 51 1-day old chicks cheeping in the post office. :) They were so fun! We kept them in our family room for awhile- until they out grew 2 "homes".
