For His good pleasure

This I saw, that when a soul loves God with a supreme love, God's interests and his become one.
It is no matter when or where nor how Christ should send me, nor what trials He should exercise me with, if I may be prepared for His work and will.
-David Brainerd

"I always do those things that please Him."
-JESUS (John 8:29 )

This was neat to read. It ties in with some things I've been thinking about recently :)

I give a hearty amen to that!

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” –John 17:21

Good Quote. Challenging though. Actually the first sentence could stand alone - a good desktop reminder.

Nice windmill shot. You are getting a lot of emotion in your photos. Or I am getting more sentimental. Either way, it is a good picture.

(I like the background colors - wish they wouldn't have taken them off of the Nebraska License plates. They were really colorful.)

Is that a new photo of you on your post? It's wonderful.

Prayers,
Richard

Wow, that really hits home here...
Do I really love God supremely?!
That is such a challenge to me... and from a man who really lived what he preached...!
Wow, again! I really needed to hear that exhortation, Bethany! Thank you so much for posting!
:)

Hi Bethany! I meant to leave a comment a few weeks ago to ask about this, but I forgot. Remember that waterfall picture I used in the post about the hymn "Like a River Glorious"? As I was just browsing your blog, I saw this same pic on one of the posts. Did you take it?

Bethany said...

Yes, I did take that picture -- it is a waterfall our family was able to see in North Carolina. Isn't God's creation amazing?

Oh dear, I am so sorry! When I was making that post, I was trying to remember where it came from. I Never use anyone's personal photos, so I thought for sure it couldn't be one. :-) I have no idea how it got in the picture files! I am so sorry to have used it! :-)

Now I understand why you said it looked familiar! At the time, I really had no idea why you said that. Again, my apologies! :-)

Oh -- don't worry about it! It really is okay! :D The post you used it on was beautiful -- so I feel honored!

Blessings to you!

Mr. Brainerd's quote reminded me of this one."God's interests and his become one"
