Psalms 23

"The Lord is my Shepherd,
I shall not want.

...

He restores my soul."

My good is God Himself,
not joy or peace, not even blessings,

but Himself, my God.

What a nice post--just a simple reminder, but oh-so perfect!! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

I love that quote! It reminds me of a book I have called 'Him or It.' It speaks on the very subject of desiring simply God Himself more than any blessing or benefit He has to offer. I actually have yet to read the book, but have scanned it some. You've encouraged me to pick it up now!

What a wonderful thought..."My good is God Himself". That is hard for me to remember sometimes because I am so selfish. How crazy to think that somehow there is some good in me--it can only be God. He is so good!

How true. So wonderfully true! I'm so grateful that my good is not contingent on my circumstances. It's all HIM! Such a profound statement to go along with all the things God has been teaching me. Thanks so much for sharing.

Oh, and I LOVE that scenic picture! So beautiful!!

Love you!

Bethany,

Thanks for answering my question about the "Open Door" -- when are you and your family not busy?! I have looked at your schedule and I don't know how you guys do it! Seven weeks!?!? I can BARELY wait until camp-- I am getting so excited!! I have to make up for the year that I missed -- Hawaii is never going to hold me back again!! :D
