Blessings in disguise

Answers to prayer often come in unexpected ways. We pray, for instance, for a certain virtue; but God seldom delivers Christian virtues all wrapped in a package and ready for use. Rather He puts us in situations where by His help we can develop those virtues.

-C. R. Findley

"Hear my prayer, O Lord!
...cause me to know the way in which I should walk."
Psalms 143:1, 8

Very true! I once heard someone say, "Never pray for patience unless you are ready to be tried and suffer long!"

Oh,Bethany! Thank you for this post. It was so what I needed to hear! We think that virtues should come in a form we want. But true lasting virtues come only by His refining hand! Yes--it hurts--but when we look back on the pain--we see God smiling through our tears--so long as we will embrace His call.

Love ya bunches!
